Project Life | Weeks 39-45

I meant to share sooner but just could not make it outside to take good or decent pictures of my super thick PL album!  And speaking of thick album I had to go purchase a wider/thicker one because all my pages would not fit!

This time I am also including a LO, actually I included three more LO to my PL but the other two I have previously shared here on my blog.

And here are weeks 39 and 40 combined. Even thou I did take plenty of pictures these two weeks, I did not take pictures every single day and that is just OK with me.

Used Simple Stories Snap collection cards, Basic Grey abc stickers,  a tad of stitching,
and some fun stamping!

I used a Basic Grey POTM kit to create my LO tweaking it just a bit and adding stitching.

I followed the LO of the intended POTM with the exception of adding my title.
I changed the design a bit here on my journaling by adding the arrow button and a different stamp just because I felt it went better with the colors of my pictures.
Kept this area pretty much the same... just added stitching all around my LO.  Oh almost forgot that instead of using the PP for my background I used black cardstock from AC once again just because it looks better in my opinion.  It brings out my pictures better.  OK enough of that, on to my PL.

Week 41

For this week I used dies from MFT and PTI to adorn the main 4"x6" card. Love those little cameras! The journaling cards are from the Simple Stories Snap collection. Love how cheery and bright they are!
I created a LO of my grand daughter Jasmine dressed as a pirate because I just LOVE that face!!!
You can see it HERE
I started a LO to record the fun time I had with the girls up north but cannot seem to finish it (cannot find the right paper, ha!  Actually I was trying to recreate the above LO with different papers but keep liking the BG ones on that particular LO...)

Week 42

This week was a sad one for my family.  My aunt Lourdes passed away.
I stamped the ribbon using MCT breast cancer awareness ribbon stamp and colored it in black.
Once again I used the Simple Stories Snap collection for my journaling cards and dies from PTI and MFT to cut the numbers, letters and phrase.

Week 43

This was really very simple.  I just added BG stickers to form the week phrase and numbers, stamped the dates and wrote my journaling entries!  The cards are all ready and pretty like that! (they look like I added washi tape, banners, die cuts, etc)

Week 44

Another very simple and quick to create pages with the Simple Stories cards.  This time I used their Fall collection to go with my Fall theme.

Thirteen days after my aunt Lourders passed away, we lost my uncle Arturo....
not nice!  He was one of my favorite uncle and I have tons of great memories of him :(
I created a LO and shared it during El Día De Los Muertos HERE

On a cheery note, I love that I got to see these pictures of my soon to be born grandson!!!

And one more!!
Week 45

Once again a super simple LO to create with this bright and cheerful Simple Stories Snap cards and dies from PTI and a couple of washi stickers!

I have a couple of pictures of the new album I purchased to replace my previous thinner one.
I had purchased several of these green albums to be "prepared" for future years and because I like matchy matchy! but love the new ones even thou they are not green, HA!  I also like red and brown and go with my home decor as well.  I found them at Joann and have purchased a couple of brown ones and a red one and I like them both.  They are pricey but have use a coupon for one and was lucky to walk into the store when they had a 50% off sale.

You can see that the green album is bursting! LOL  and I have not yet included the 12"x12" pouch that holds all the mementos/memorabilia from the year!

That is it for me for now.  I will probably come back and share a few more pages next week and soon will start sharing the pages for this 2013 year.  This year I will try not to add too many 3-D embellishments to keep it "thinner" and will not concentrate so much on a "daily" picture but more like a week in review.

Come back Saturday for a fun hop I am participating with and hosted by my BFF Abby.

Project Life | Weeks 36-38

Stopping by to share with a quick post my Project Life for part of the month of September 2012.  I have already started 2013 and will probably start sharing 2013 in the next two weeks, but for these next days I will share a bit more of 2012.

Week 36
This week started with Labor Day and me putting together some IKEA furniture for my Studio/Scrap Room that I just relocated to another room in the house (believe it or not I had it on my main living room for almost 2 years, but decided to move into one of the bedrooms in my house).

Labor Day brought me a super surprise! I received a phone call that I ignored because I did not recognized the number (and had been receiving lots of calls from candidates running for the upcoming elections).  A few seconds later I heard my phone make the sound it makes when somebody leaves a message... so I thought OK I'll listen to it later... followed by the sound of somebody leaving me a text message.  This time I though OK this must be a family member or somebody that really knows me and wants to really get a hold of me, so I proceeded to turn around and grab the phone... Boy was I surprised when I read the words "Hi Sunshine, it's me...."!!  I had not heard from Arnel who happens to be the only person that ever called me Sunshine, in exactly 24 years.
Even thou we met later that day I am including in my PL a picture I found from the 80's and a picture we took together later that month since we did not take a picture the day we reconnected.

Week 37

My layouts are very simple these 3 weeks because I wanted to show my BFF Abby that you do not have to add too much froo froo All that matters is that you get the pictures in the pockets and write the journaling down.

I did do some stamping on week 36 using Ki stamps I purchased at Studio Calico but it was limited.  For my weeks 37 and 38 below all I have is pictures and a few journaling cards.  On week 37 the cards are from the Simple Stories Snap collection and below for week 38 a mix of Simple Stories and Echo Park.

WEEK 38
Just added stickers to form the week and number of the week and used a date stamper that you can find at any office supply store.

See comadrita (my BFF Abby), very simple.  What's important is to get it down in writing, just ask my daughter and son-in-law who just loved it when they saw my PL album in person last month.

Project Life | Weeks 31-35

I decided to quickly share my Project Life pages for 2012 a month at a time in the next few days since I have already started the 2013 album!  This is exciting! more exciting is the fact that when my daughter came over for the holidays, she got to see it in person and got emotional and happy to see it in person.  Even my SIL liked it!

OK on to week 31 which includes the end of July and the beginning of August.
This was another super exciting Summer week on board a Carnival cruise to México, Honduras and Belize with my daughter and grand daughters!
For this week I used the Simple Stories Snap collection! love it that it's so bright and cheery!
I made my own button/tin pin
Used some BG stickers for the week 31 and purposely stamped the date several times to make it look messy! really!
I used several stamps from different stamp sets (I did not keep track of them but some are from Studio Calico, Hampton Art...I think...)

Week 32
This week starts with us debarking the ship and spending the day in New Orleans.  We had a hotel reserved so we can spend the night and the next day sightseeing, but decided to just take a nap and head back home later that evening.  Let me just say that the French Quarters was just not child friendly/proofed!
I flew back home on Tuesday and back to the busiest time of the year for me at work! in addition to some incredibly hot days!

It was super exciting to watch México win its first Soccer Gold Medal!!  Above you can see that I have cut and added a see thru card using my Cameo.
Most of the journal cards I used here are from the SS Snap collection except the green one above.  It is an Echo Park journal card.
For my title card I used BG Wandered paper and stapled the letter and number stickers.

Weeks 33-35

As I mentioned above I went back to work!! And for me the start of a school year (and the end) are the busiest times so I ended up combining 3 weeks into one!  Not only was it busy for me, but for my daughter who is a teacher to 3rd graders and started a new job!  The result? less pictures!  So I combined three (3) weeks into one.  This is real life! so this SS Snap card was just perfect for my title.

It is getting harder to take pictures since my album is so thick, but just LOVE it!!

The above sticker and journal entry is way too funny to me and my daughter... even my SIL laughed when he read it!  You see, he has a thing for the neighbors parking in front of his house!  LOL  In his defense, they party and leave glass bottles behind.....etc.

Well, this sums up the end of July and the month of August.  I will be back soon, maybe even tomorrow to share the pages for the month of September and hopefully by the end of the week I will be done sharing October and November's pages so I can get started with 2013!

Hopefully this has inspired at least one of you to start documenting your life in one way or another!  You should have seen my daughter when she first saw this album!! and I can only imagine how I would feel if my Mom or Grandmother would have left me something remotely similar... sadly, nothing!

Project Life | Week 29 & 30

Week 29 was a super fun week... the beginning of two amazing Summer weeks of vacationing!!

The week started with my niece's birthday celebration on Sunday, planning and packing for the upcoming two super amazing weeks of fun and adventure!

Here you can see that I added a 6"x12" insert or page to write lots of journaling
On the left page I cut a 4"x12" piece of PP into 4 3x4s

Here I used some wooden (wood veneer) embellishments that I colored in red using a Copic marker, a stamp from DEE and some stickers for the week/number.
For Lauren's picture I used a Polaroid frame that I found at my local craft store.
Lauren loves to eat cucumber and jicama (and other fruits) with salt and lemon (a Mexican thing to do... and if you can handle chili powder, better!).  Love the look on her face!!

The adventure started on Thursday with a flight to meet my daughter in Phoenix and fly together to Seattle where we boarded our cruise ship on Friday!  Loved all the flowers in Seattle (not the rainy weather but still had lots of fun! part of the adventure!).

On the other side of the 6"x12" insert I added a collage of pictures and the welcoming "passport booklet" we received with our card when boarding the cruise ship to Alaska. I placed the card on the bottom right pocket and use this "booklet" to add ticket stubs and receipts.
I taped it with washi tape (strong adhesive under) and inserted the whole thing in the protector.  After it was inserted I cut around 3 sides of the "passport booklet" very carefully (just the plastic) so that I can open it and see its content without having to pull the whole sheet out.

Using the washi tape I created a pull me open tab.
 Week 30
An amazing cruise to Alaska and Victoria, Canada!

For week 30 I only used two journal cards and a 1 1/2" x 12" piece of PP that I inserted in the middle.  These protectors are from two different companies.  The one to the left is from We R Memory Keepers and the one to the right is from Recollections.  One has 3 6"x4" and 1 6"x12 pockets while the other has 3 6"x4", 2 4"x6" and a 1 1/2 spaces/pockets.  These were perfect for what I wanted to accomplish and that is to fit as many pictures as I could.
The only thing I added to this page was a strip from the Destinations collection by Simple Stories that I cut by hand.

If a picture tells a story, the picture of my daughter hanging on the Skagway police department's sign will forever tell the most funniest story!  (an inside story!)  Love her humor and love it even more when we both make each other laugh to the point of shedding tears, snorting and more...  LOL
I created my own pin/button of a map.

The trip ended on Friday.  We flew back to my daughter's house where we spent Saturday getting ready to start driving to New Orleans to board another cruise ship, this time to the Caribbean.  This time we took my grand daughters!  I will be back to share!

Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies:
The washi tape is from Studio Calico
