I Love Lucy Blog Hop

Welcome to GabyCreates
and to the
I Love Lucy Blog Hop hosted by my BFF
If you just arrived from visiting Angelica you are in the right place, but if you just happen to be visiting and wish to participate, please start HERE
My project for today has been inspired by this
I Love Lucy Pioneer Woman Episode #25 Stove Cookie Jar
Long story short, this episode is were Lucy bakes bread and it exponentially grows!

Coming up with a project was a challenge for me.
I really wanted to do a layout, but could not come up with pictures of me or my babies baking bread.
So I decided to create this card, but just could not come up with the sentiment.
I will give this card later to someone that I would want to say "what's cooking", but not baking!!

I want to add that I was just cracking up with what my sister shared with me when I informed her that I could not come up with the sentiment.  She shared a bit about the movie "Enough" (I have not watched) were she (Jennifer Lopez) calls her cheating husband from his lover's phone, and he answers "is this my little croissant" and she replies, NO this is your Loaf of Bread!! LOL  (wrong movie!!) but non the less super funny to me!

All cuts are from Cricut From My Kitchen cartridge except the kitchen towel (I cut by hand).
Used my Gypsy to flip shadow vertically and horizontally before welding card base.

Thanks for visiting and leaving a comment!
For a chance at all the prizes Abby is giving, you must comment on all participating blogs!!
For a chance at a set of 5 packs of embellishments from me,
tell me the name of the movie I just quoted!
(not the I Love Lucy episode)

A Card using Cricut French Manor

It is challenge time at
Cooking With Cricut

Challenge #20 Theme - Spring Forward....
Project must have a clock or time piece on it.

I created this card using Cricut French Manor

I used the card2 feature and cut twice.  First, I placed my store bought card using my Gypsy and lining up the card on the mat. I also used the hide contour feature to hide the actual card since I just needed the clock to be cut on my card.
I cut again on glitter red paper using hide contour and leaving only the clock, since there was no layer feature. I just hand cut around to give it the thin frame look.
I used a Kelly Panacci/Sandylion stamp and the Cricut/Cuttlebug Fanciful Labels for the sentiment.  I had cut a sentiment using Paper Lace cartridge welding the letter to read Spring Forward, but settled on a stamped sentiment instead.
I inked everything with distress ink "old paper" and added two drops of puffy red glitter to the flower button I used for the center of the bow.

A Windy City, Chicago layout using MM Vintage Findings

Today I created a one page layout of my trip to Chicago with my male BFF
using the Making Memories Vintage Findings Collection that you can find
at Happy N Scrappin'
I used Adobe Photoshop to create my photo collage.  Using Clipping Masks I added our picture and pictures of the map, menu from the restaurant and the world's largest Ralph Lauren store that I downloaded from the RL Web site.  I printed as a one 8"x10" sheet of picture 8.5" x 11", trimmed it and adhered to my card stock.
Update: I forgot to add that my best friend Victor Torres (I call him Torres) is all about Ralph Lauren. I teased him about wanting to go to the Ralph Lauren restaurant on his 39th birthday. The joke was on me when he informed me that there was actually a Ralph Lauren restaurant in Chicago, so we celebrated his 40th the following year by traveling to Chicago and taking him to the restaurant.  The windy city was not windy at all, it was sunny and raining. We had lots of fun!  Love all the flowers and plants they have on the main road.
1-cut a 11.5" w x 2.75" h Map Findings pp map side.
2-stamped scene with embossing stamp pad.
3-used navy embossing powder.
4-heat embossed with heating tool.
5-cut 1.5" w x 8" h Map Findings pp polka dot side.
6-printed journaling on vellum and placed on top.
7-hand cut stamps from Stamp Book Findings pp.
8-cut 2 (pieces)1/16" strips of green card stock.
9-punched and cut a strip of Map Findings pp map side with EK stamp punch.
10-cut and punched 3" with EK scalloped punch.
11- cut with Cricut Destinations the "the windy city" using Gypsy.
12- cut "Chicago" with Cricut Paper Lace font and welded with Gypsy.
~Neither Cricut cuts had shadow, so I cut a .25" larger designs.
~Used Vintage Findings trims for tag and bottom of journal panel
~Machine stitched.
~Inked most items using Tim Holtz Faded Jeans distress ink

I am entering the Circle challenge of having at least 2 Cricut cuts and to Incorporate at least three of the following types of materials on your project. (Hardware items, stars, raw cardboard or chipboard, twine, string, paint, buttons, staples, or distressed edges)
