For today's project I created the cover for an album were I will journal my Christmas Season.
I am excited to document the Christmas season for the first time since I am new to scrap-booking.
There are several methods that I have come across on how to approach this project. There is the December Daily by Ali Edwards and the Journal Your Christmas by Shimell. I will be attempting a combination. December Daily is an album that documents the 25 first days in December and the Journal Your Christmas, I believe starts on Dec 1 and ends January 6th (many European countries as well as most Hispanic countries celebrate January 6 even more than December 25). I will start mine on Black Friday and attempt to go all the way to January 6 since my parents did celebrate "Dia De Reyes" with us as kids and my daughter and only child was born on that day! I will be hosting a hop that day with lots of giveaways!
Additionally, many approach this project by creating in advance their pages..... I am not ready for that so I will be creating a few at a time. And why am I starting on Black Friday?, well my daughter went BF shopping for the first time and kept in communication with me the entire time and all I can say is that I laughed my heart out!! (will be sharing later her three
This is my cover page - I will be mostly using PP from the BG Jovial collection and scraps in the black, red, green and off-white color scheme.
Here is a closer look at the cuts/designs I purchased from the Silhouette online store. Love the numbers with the tiny (minute) black edge.
Here is a look at my cover page inside the album's protective sheet. I purchased this album/folder at Staples. There are many album styles, sizes and materials utilized by many people. I was going to purchase an expensive kit, thought about it, and when I was ready, it had sold out, so I got creative and started building my own for a lot less. I just like it because it is green and black and it will do just fine!
I additionally started building the inside cover page. I purchased this file from Kerri Bradford Studio.
The design had the words HO HO HO but I took away and replaced with "Jesus is the Reason" -- I will add for "the season" inside. You can see a picture of my daughter shopping (oh so grateful for smart phones!). I was not able to create that page because I printed the pictures too large (I need wallet sized or 3x5 if I want to use more than one in a page layout). My album is 5 1/2" by 8 1/2".
