Glitter Explosion Blog Hop
Welcome to GabyCreates
and to the
Glitter Explosion Blog Hop hosted by Yolie
Hopefully you just arrived from Yolie's Blog, but if you happen to just be visiting my blog and wish to participate, please start HERE
We are to create anything as long as is exploding with glitter!
I created this card for an anniversary (I cannot tell you for whom or the date, He/She might be visiting :))
I used Cricut Elegant Cakes for the sentiment. It is really a lighter creamier color in person... I wanted to show the glitter. I was inspired by a card Cindy Royal created and posted on the Circle blog. I am not able to provide link.
All paper is from DCWV Linen Closet Stack.
I used MS fine glitter and MS crystal coarse glitter.
Both folders are from Cuttlebug -- I only remember the name of one = Lace Door
The inking really looks darker here, but it is hardly noticeable in person.
The roses are from Recollections and I added fine glitter to them.
This is the inside sentiment.
And this is on the back of the card - CricutChick posted were to buy on FB.
I pop dotted everything to give it lots of dimension with 1/8" and 1/4" dimensional foam.
Now it is time to go visit LENEA
But before you leave, leave a comment for a chance at 50 yards of twine.

Today I am lucky enough to post for the third time over at
Cooking With Cricut during the Grand Blog-Aversary Celebration!
It's All About Celebrations! I had posted a card and had mentioned that I would suggest to my nieces to recycle the card and place it on a layout... here is the layout with the card.
She can use the inside of the card for her journal entry.
Items Used:
Cricut - Gypsy - Gypsy Wandering for "Congrats" with shadow -
cut twice (once with PP the other in yellow) and hand cut the star - added Glossy Accents
Cricut - Kate's ABC's for the letters "Grad"
Cricut - PDFE GBS and HKF for the bear card - see posting on how to make the bear/card
Cricut - Don't remember if star is by George, Hannah, B is for Boy or one of the many other carts that have a star in them. -cut the stars and stitch around them.
EK punch - Thread for tassel - BG Recess Collection and BG Life's a Party brads - Sewing machine.
I followed Jana Eubank's sketch and am entering this LO on the Circle Blog's Weekly Challenge.
Thanks for Visiting and leaving a comment!!

Memorial Day - Peace - Red Poppies
Today is Challenge Day over at Cooking With Cricut
and the Challenge is Memorial Day incorporating stitching!
And I have a little bit of history to share...
The most ancient symbol of peace is the olive branch. A later representation of a Dove holding an Olive Branch was used to symbolize or as a motto of "Peace Restored" in 18th century America.
Did you know that Moina Michael back in 1915 conceived of an idea to wear red poppies on Memorial day in honor of those who died serving the nation during war.
She was the first to wear one, and sold poppies to her friends and co-workers with the money going to benefit servicemen in need. Later a Madam Guerin from France was visiting the United States and learned of this new custom started by Ms.Michael and when she returned to France, made artificial red poppies to raise money for war orphaned children and widowed women. This tradition spread to other countries. In 1921, the Franco-American Children's League sold poppies nationally to benefit war orphans of France and Belgium. The League disbanded a year later and Madam Guerin approached the VFW for help. Shortly before Memorial Day in 1922 the VFW became the first veterans' organization to nationally sell poppies. Two years later their "Buddy" Poppy program was selling artificial poppies made by disabled veterans. In 1948 the US Post Office honored Ms Michael for her role in founding the National Poppy movement by issuing a red 3 cent postage stamp with her likeness on it. (http://www.usmemorialday.org/backgrnd.html)
Materials Used:
Cricut Expression, Gypsy and Star embossing folder,
Cricut French Manor, 50 States and Stretch Your Imagination Cartridges.
White, Blue, Red and two tones of Green Cardstock.
Ribbon, Walnut Stain and Beads.
Thanks for visiting!! Hopefully you find the time to go visit what other beautiful creations my Team Mates created over at CWC and maybe you can join us in the Challenge!!
