PTI Blog Hop | March 2013

It all started with the idea of creating a CAS card and somehow I ended up creating a psychedelic one! Hope you don't get dizzy! lol

I wanted to participate for the first time in the Papertrey Ink monthly blog hop they hold on the 25th of each month.

This month's hop theme or challenge is to use sequins  (now you get and idea how I ended up making a psychedelic card!). 

And here is my card!

 Since I know just the one person that will appreciate this card, I added my sentiment in Spanish.
I stamped three of the larger flowers but later decided to die cut one using the Bloom Builders die to add layers and dimension to my card (...the start of the CAS demise!! LOL) 

Most items are from PTI except the sentiment which is from Dilo En Español.

Thank You Cards Tutorial

I am really into using dies right now, Love them!  There is something about the smooth edges... speaking of smooth this technique creates a very smooth design.

Today I created this tutorial to share over at She'sASassyLady

I first die cut the "thanks" die using kraft paper,

-took the die cut word out
-attached the negative panel to my black card

-after cutting the "thanks" word out of pattern paper
-I fit them into the empty spaces on my kraft panel using adhesive
-done!  Smooth and simple!!

You can leave it as very smooth and simple or embellish as desired!
For my second or bottom card, I needed black pearls (and I did not have) so I colored some white ones using a black Copic marker.

I used the "Mi Bebe" collection to create my card.

 Stamped sentiment -inside  Translation=A little angel has fallen from the sky.

 I thought this spiral die was the perfect addition to my card mimicking baby clothes falling from the sky!
The onesie, baby rattle and baby bib are all included on the "Mi Bebe" stamp set.

Welcome to day 2 of Dilo En Español Release party!

For today's post I am sharing an invitation to a baptism.
Hoy estoy compartiendoles una tarjeta/invitación a un bautizo.

Below you can see a bit more the shine on the stamped little feet and the pearlized cardstock I used.

Aquí en esta siguiente foto se logra disfrutar el brillo en el diseño y en el papel que utilice para crear mi

tarjeta/invitación. 

 

Why did I add money to my photo?  Well, glad you asked...  it is customary for the Godparents to throw money up in the air after the baby has been baptized. 

I stamped the image using Versamark and added some PerfectPearls powder to create this effect.

Utilice Versamark y añadí polvito PerfectPearls para lograr este resultado.

The picture above shows a more true to life color (but no shine).
En esta foto se disfruta el color verdadero de la tarjeta/invitación (pero no se logra ver el brillo).

Hello Card | SEI Field Notes Collection

Today I am sharing a vintage/distress card using the so pretty and shinySEI Field Notes Collection that I created for Happy N Scrappin'

I love the Arboretum (top) and the butterfly papers included in this collection.
I utilized both sides of the Arboretum Gold Foil Accent and the Kaleidoscope Gold Foil Accent PPs

And since the Arboretum Gold Foil Accent paper had  a "chicken wire" design on the B side, I added a chicken wire die cut at the bottom of my card.
I distress the banners and card around using the Tim Holtz distress-er.

I finished the card with a tag, gold sequins and a gem included on the SEI Field Notes Sundries embellishment pack; and a hand cut butterfly from the Butterflies Blue Foil Accent PP.
