A Card for Emma's Throwback Thursday

The theme at Emma's this week is Food- using From My Kitchen

1-For the face I used my Peachy Keen stamps-- I used two to make one!!
PK-754 and PK-490 -- I used the eyes from the bird on PK-754 and mouth-nose from PK-490

I placed scotch tape on the parts I did not want to ink.

2-I created this gingerbread card by welding the design found in From My Kitchen cartridge pg 65.
3-The design comes with an additional cookie, so I had to do a lot of hide contour to only get the gingerbread girl.
4-I also copied and flipped an additional design and welded them at the head using my Gypsy.
5-I then cut a smaller gingerbread girl in white to use in the inside of the card.
6-I decided to also add the lollipop found on Mini Monsters cartridge card feature cut at 2.5 inches to place on her hand and write a sentiment in the inside.
Additional items used:
Stickles, distress ink in walnut, Prismacolors, Celebrate it ribbon, glossy accents, stamps.

I really enjoyed learning more about this celebration that I really didn't know alot about. I appreciate the ladies who shared personal stories about their families as if we were really "friends"! What a great way to start the day. I will share this with my kids, I love learning new things about other cultures! Thank you so much, this has to be one of my favorite hops ever! =)

DIA DE LOS MUERTOS BLOG HOP!! -

WELCOME
TO
"DAY OF THE DEAD/DIA DE LOS MUERTOS" BLOG HOP!!
OR THE DAY
MEXICO CELEBRATES LIFE!!

and as you can see I am Mexican
(OK, Mexican-American, Spanish and French).
For a bit more of information on the celebration, I found a nice
article, if you are interested, written by S. Derrickson Moore
You can see part of her article and link just to your right.

OK, on to the Blog Hop! and project.
First of all, I hope you arrived here from
my BFF blog, if not start there.

I created a Two-Page LO of my parents, both deceased, to celebrate
their Life!! - They were both born in Jalisco, México, hence my outfit!
Decorated Skulls, Marigolds, Papel Picado Banners
are all found in my LO and are very typical of
Dia De Los Muertos celebration!!
DH drew design and colored the skulls that I cut from Wall Décor and More. We changed the skull's teeth to not look so diabolic!
He so wanted to be part of it!!
So much that look at all the work he did embellishing the following skulls!!!

Yes, it took him a few days to create all this!
Oh, and of course he had to put an altar together with the oh so typical of this celebration, Pan de Muertos!!
(DH forgot to iron the sheet, lol!, OK, we did!!)
Materials & Supplies:
Cricut Wall Décor and More
Cricut Disney Happily Ever After
Cricut Freshly Picked
Background paper - DCWV The Bon Voyage Travel Stack
All other paper - Core'dinations
Imaginisce irock
Distress inks and chalk
