Cutie Patootie Blog Hop

Welcome to GabyCreates
and to the
Cutie Patootie Blog Hop

If you have arrived here from visiting Staci's blog, you are in the right place, but if you just happened to stop by for a visit and wish to participate, please start with Yolie  (you won't be sorry, Awesome giveaways)

Yolie asked us to create something with a cutting file other than what we have in our carts. So I asked Melin if I could use her "I heart scrapbooking" file, and she being so awesomely giving, gave me the file for my layout. Melin as many of you know, is the owner of the CookingWithCricut blog, but she will keep that for just that, all things Cricut and has started the PaperCraftingWorld blog for all her cutie patootie files that she creates.

This is my Ahijada Abby -- If you visit my blog, you know that Abby and I are best friends and Comadres and that this Cutie Patootie is her daughter, my Goddaughter.
I left the journaling and face painting to Abby (I think she does a great job at painting Melin's bears faces!)
I also left the journal piece for Abby to fill in with the exact date and event. (that's what she gets for going out to have some margaritas just when I needed this info, LOL)
Abby (Abbyta) is scrapbooking with Mom for a family scrapbooking night they participate in.
I cut Melin's files with my Pazzles Inspiration .
Here is the list of participating blogs in case you need to take a break, or get lost along the way.
Your next stop is Tammy

My Gold at The End of The Rainbow -Lucky to have you One Page LO

Today is Design Time Thursday
at  Creative Cutter Room
The Design Team has chosen an element each to add to today's project.

This is the layout I created.

Recipe:
Simply Charmed - Pot of gold and title bottom
Paper Doll Dress Up - hat
Base Camp - title top
Fabulous Finds - clip
Plantin Schoolbook - circle
3D foam for title (bottom), hat's buckle, pot of gold
Distress Ink - walnut
Since there were no layers for the hat,
I hand cut the buckle and colored the black strip
Buttons and lots of stitching (I am loving stitching!)
...and not too happy about my doodling.....

How about a challenge?

Create a St Patrick's Day project and enter your project
over at the Creative Cutter Room and be entered to win a prize.
But there is a twist! You must visit each of the four Design Team Members and find out the required element needed for your project! So you will need 4 required elements to enter your project!!
Here is my requirement:
My elements is "must have green" (are your surprised?!)

Here is a list of the other Design Team members, have fun and check them out for the other required elements!

Enter your project here Before March 16!

And since I cannot enter my own challenge I decided to enter MyCreativeTime's Throwback Thursday challenge!

Catching Air at 45 A Two-Page LO using BG Origins

Welcome to the bi-monthly challenge
at ScrapTiffany
Today the challenge is Sports

I created this two page layout using the Basic Grey POTM
that you can find at HappyNScrappin

This is Angel (aka DH) --He use to ride at a competitive level in his younger days....
He is so proud of these pictures and the fact that he was still riding at 45. But after a few bumps and bruises (actually, broken bones, tore ligaments and couple a concussions!!).....
He is now all into Golf, but won't let go of the Dirt Bike, just in case....

I added some machine stitching to the upper left page and the lower right page and the bottom labels.
The labels are from the Cricut Embossing Plus Fanciful Labels --I printed on my printer and than cut/embossed.

If you purchase just 6 of any year's BG kits, the owners at HappyNScrappin will give you the album for free!  (you had to purchase 12 of the 2010-11 before)

Project12 and Blogoversary Winners!!

Welcome and Thank you to ALL that participated!!!

I started this blog to enter Project12, so I thought it would be appropriate
to post the winners of my Blogoversary with my first entry for this year's Project12
"Here is how it works:
Becky will post, both here on the blog, a beautiful double page sketch on the last Saturday of each month for use the following month. Davinie Fiero will post a page example to get your creative juices started! When the new sketch is revealed, everyone who has sent us an image or a gallery link of their completed page for the previous month, will be entered into a draw to win a fabulous prize from one of our advertising partners! You can send us your image, or a link, to ideas@scrapbookandcards.com with “Project 12” in the subject line.
The first sketch for January 2010 and official launch of Project 12 was in December, 2009. Each sketch is posted on the Scrapbook & Cards Today blog at http://www.scrapbookandcardstodaymag.typepad.com/ and here as a downloadable pdf so that anyone can join in and catch up. Imagine a beautiful album showing off your whole year in 12 easy steps!" (taken from http://www.scrapbookandcards.com/project-12)

You do not have to follow the sketch and you can create a one page layout according to the rules...what they want is to encourage you to journal your life.
I created this two page layout (I did not follow the sketch -- last year I did, but decided that this is the format I will follow this year for all or most of my Month-In-Reviews like I will call them)
I used lots of machine stitching.
Ambulance from Cricut Paper Dolls Every Day --Glossy Accents for tires and red cross -- Sharpie silver marker for bumpers and handle.
Letters and numbers from Cricut Base Camp with layers.
Everyday Cricut cartridge for BugCircle cut.
Gypsy Wanderings for Snow word.
Snowflakes are Sizzix dies.
EK punches.
All metal snowflakes are from MM and I colored the all stones with Copic R39.
Stamps - Studio G, Stampendous, Tim Holtz.
Embossing clear powder - a la Mode; green distress by Ranger.
VersaMark watermark in champagne and Marvy brush markers in several colors for word FAMILY.

Thank you so much for visiting and I hope at least one of you decides to play with Projec12 this year!
(last year, I only finished 4!  It is my goal to create all 12 this year!)

And the Winners are ----    I will post at midnight!! or a few minutes after Inlinks closes
My appologies, I am tired.... will post winners later in the day, but I will notify winner by email or on winner's blogs like I always do.... thanks for understanding! -- Hugs, Gaby 11:30PM
Finally Winners!! --- later than I thought (Got phone call 2-3AM that niece had been in a car accident -- hit by a drunk driver!! -- she is OK, if OK means got a broken nose! and couple of stitches--- why is it that people still think they can drink and drive??)
