I'm very thankful for the opportunity to support breast cancer awareness.
I do believe only by the grace of God have I not suffered this disease, so
for that reason alone, I give my total support. My sister has had breast cancer and my elderly mother-in-law also, so it's been around me and I'm aware how much love, support and encouragement people with breast cancer need. I was not with my sister for her surgery as we live a good distance apart but my strength, love and encouragement was there. I've always felt bad about not being with her. Thank the good Lord, my sister has been cancer free for 6 years now. When my husband's mother was diagnosed, I could hardly believe an 85 year old would have to go through this. What a trooper she was and just a pillar of strength and I was with her every step of the way as she lives less than a mile away. She actually encouraged others in the waiting rooms and never felt sorry for herself or displayed any feeling of not coming through it. She is 86 now and doing fine! I do believe we should do all we can to make others aware, encourage by thoughts, cards and visits and helping others any way we can...I hope I can always do this. I created this Journal of Love for Celeste to take to a patient to write down thoughts, encouragements, appointments, prayers and such. I also made a bracelet for breast cancer awareness.
