DEE FEB Challenge

There is a new challenge over at Dilo En Español

Challenge: get inspired by a DEE Pinterest pin

I was waiting to go visit my comadrita/BFF to get my hands on several stamps including this so that I can document my excitement when I noticed that the airline I was boarding offered Wi-Fi... I know, I'm a nerd! LOL

So here is the 3x4 card I created for my December journal | December documented | December daily to document day 23rd.

I like how chunky (raised) the letters look with the embossing.

This is the cover of my album.  I will hopefully be sharing all of my pages this week.

I know the challenge is to get inspired by a DEE pin and I already knew I was going to create this since December ... so I cheated a little :)   Lucky me I found two pins using this stamp on DEE Pinterest.  You can find one here by Myr Castañeda which actually inspired me to create a card to send to a friend that just yesterday while we were talking shared he was having a hard time.  In our conversation I said that if we were closer (distance wise) I would give him a hug, to which he replied to send him a Cyber Hug! so I almost immediately thought of creating a card with this Wi-Fi stamp and a sentiment from the set Vuela Alto that says "Te mando un abrazo."  I am not too happy with my card.  I tried a new technique and I think I ruined it :)
I tried water coloring with shimmer water colors ....
See, I told you!

Hope you have time to go enter the challenge HERE

Xochitl's Secret Baby Shower Hop

Welcome to the Surprise Blog Hop we are having for Xochitl!!

Hope you just arrived from Candace's blog but if you are just stopping by and wish to participate in this very short but sweet hop, please start with Abby

I created this set of thank you cards for her to give to her guests...

I used Dilo En Español's mustache stamp from the set Te Amo Papi (I love you daddy) to stamp all cards using a variation of inks and embossing powders.
This one was stamped using Memories ink in chestnut first followed by a layer or VersaMark and brown embossing powder (the powder has a bit of white pigment in it).
For this one I used the Memories chestnut ink, VersaMark and a layer of clear holographic embossing powder.
For the inside of every card I used the phrase Gracias from the Dilo's Muy Agradecido (very thankful) using SU ink.
Xochitl can give this cards to her guests.

This below is the tag I created for the box of cards I will be giving to Xochitl since I get to go up north to attend her baby shower :)

For the inside of the tag I used DEE's Frases Simples (simple phrases) set to stamp the inside sentiment on the tag.

I hope you like them Xochitl... I still have to make the envelopes!

Abby's 40th Blog Hop

Welcome to my blog and to the Abby's Over The Hill Blog Hop.

We are celebrating my BFF and comadrita Abby's 40th Birthday.
Hopefully you just arrived from Liz's blog, if not please start at the beginning with Candace.

I created these tags to post on her blog...

Tags | DEE stamps, dies, Stickles and glass beads

This is what they look like on a gift.

Some of the tags' background were stamped with the Notas a la Antigua stamp (music).
I made lots of them...

--------------------

...and I created this album ... a labor of love (lots of detail and lots of new techniques for me) so that she can document her oh so super busy December.  If she does not want to document it daily she can at least document special events such as my goddaughter recital, her oldest son's first time playing soccer, her other two son's achievements in sports, traveling to Mexico, Christmas, turning the BIG 40!!!  LOL and/or a scrap event she is holding this month.

Cover | I had already shared on FB | DEE stamps, Mod Podge, dies, Stickles, acrylic paint, washi tape ribbon, Glossy Accents, white glitter paper (some painted in aqua) and the Simple Stories album in aqua and kraft.

Here you can see all the sparkle

Intro or title page | Vellum with silver stars, silver glitter paper and die.

First Divider | 6 DEE stamp sets, acrylic paints, flexible modeling paste, stencil, color shine, Silhouette files, wooden house, washi tape, stamp roller...
This page looks busy with ballet, sports, baking, home.... but that is exactly her life! busy!

This is the first time I create something with modeling paste/stencil

First Photo Page/Back of First Divider | Paste, acrylic paint, dies; DEE stamps, Copics, glitter pen, PL card stamped (Mi Favorita and Fecha).

First Writing Page | Die, washi tape

Second Divider | DEE stamp, dies, Mod Podge, TH distress inks

I tried to keep everything in the Aqua/Red/White palette, but somehow the distress inks turned greenish after adding the Mod Podge.

Second Photo Page/Back of second divider | Acrylic paint, dies, MME embellishments, sequins, Glossy Accents.

Second Writing Page | Washi tape and MME embellishments.

Third Divider Page | Several dies, vellum, washi tape.

Third Photo Page/Back of third divider page | Dies, Echo Park embellishments/stickers.

Third Writing Page and Other | Lots of dies, glassine bag, paper clips etc.
I stamped the sentiment with Versamark and heat embossed.  She can use this in on the the protector's 4x4 pockets or adhere it to one of the note pages.

For this section I decided to cut up dies and include bits and pieces so that she can decorate herself.  I wanted to continue adding more stamping but Hey!! she is DEE's owner and she can choose which stamps she uses as she documents her December!

Abby can use the first section to either document December 1-23 or all those eventful moments of her life that include my goddaughter's recital, her son's sports events, all the baking she did and several celebrations/parties she attended.  She can add photo protectors, more writing pages or even additional dividers.
The second section is intended to document Christmas Eve and Christmas day.
The third section I am sure will be filled up to the rim with lots of photos from her birthday celebration and the Scrap event she is holding in Mexico.

Happy Birthday Comadrita!!  Love Ya!!
