Surprise Scrapbook LO

Today I am sharing a LO I created about that exciting day back in May when I surprised my daughter and grand daughters.  Lauren was so surprised to see me show up to pick her up from school and I just love that my daughter was able to capture her and my happy face on that precise moment!  I have other pictures of that moment, but chose to use this ones because they really show the "happy" in us!

I followed a sketch from PageMaps not without changing things a bit...

This is my LO using a variety of products from different companies. I really like it when I am able to use products from different companies and that they match.

I used Basic Grey for my background paper and the folder too was from a pack of BG cards I found at my local craft store.
The other PP is from Echo Park.  The buttons are from October Afternoon but had no idea what collection because they came with a kit from Studio Calico.
The heart paper clip is from Recollections and the tiny one from Tim Holtz.

I have been trying to use all those alphas glitter or not that I have purchased during the past three years because I either had to have or they were on sale (the case with most, ha!) and never use... It is my goal to use them till I have no more and am forced to cut my titles on my cutting machine or using dies.

I was a bit hesitant to use for the first time some color shine on my layout thinking that I might ruin it, but it all worked out! pheeww! I really like how shiny it is and the color so turquoise not so minty green like the title it bears.

The colorful polaroids are from a Heidi Swapp collection that I love and had to order online like a year ago but had not yet used (I now have more since my local scrap store has them available and even had them on clearance. Love it when that happens! )

I did not take a better picture of my journaling that it's inside the folder but it is a notebook type of shape cut with a die from MFT using PTI Kraft paper.

This is the PageMaps sketch that I use as inspiration.  And there is a challenge over at the PageMaps blog that I will be participating in with this LO.

Chocolate Love LO

I have another LO for my friend's Scrapbook.  This one is of me, or a reminder of him always making some kind of joke or attempting to be funny by giving me a hard time about my love for chocolate (really, I don't even eat chocolate everyday, really!!).  He surprised me in the morning with this sign and insisted on taking my picture even thou I insisted I had a bad hair day and no make up (so I run to put some lipstick!).  This picture reminds me of the fun times we had working together for 5 years.  I might just keep this Layout.  (Since I have decided to do half of his album Project Life/Life Documented style due to the large amount of pictures he asked me to scrap... 147! yeah!  LOL)

It is a trend right now in scrapbooking to use the negative, so I went crazy LOL
Found all the sayings on the Silhouette online store.

On the below picture you can see that I did a double frame with machine stitching.

I covered the wooden embellishment in gold using a gold pen.

Home Sweet Home | That Old House

And here I am sharing a few more layouts I created for my dear friend.  These layouts are all about significant homes were he or his family have lived.

First this two page LO

I used the Echo Park So Happy Together collection.
Once again I am leaving a journal spot for him to enter it in his own words.  I additionally will be providing him with some vellum strips (dove tail) to place them at the bottom of each house with the year or significant date...

And here a one page layout of a more recent home.

I used the same Echo Park collection, wooden figurines and some crazy stitching.

Hope he likes them (who am I kidding, I hope he loves them!!).

Class of '57-'58 Scrapbook LOs

As I shared before in recent posts I have been busy creating layouts for my former assistant and wonderful friend Ted.

Today I have two layouts of his and his wife's graduation pictures.

It was not my intention to create a two page layout, but I decided to create them with matching papers or using the same collection so that they will go together in the scrap book.

For hers I added this rose that I hand cut from a 4x6" card included in the collection to give it a 3D look.  I also added sequins and glitter framing.  The glitter paper is from Recollections and it is a very pretty with very fine glitter like (and I say glitter like because no glitter ends up on you hands or all over the place like with other glittered papers).

 For his I added a strip or edger that I cut from the same glitter paper using Spellbinders edgers on both sides of the center PP.

 The postcard I added and the letters for the titles are also part of the same Simple Stories collection.

Applause | The Missing U

Back to share another LO I created for my friend Ted.
Ted and I had and continue to have a fun relationship, and by that I mean that we were always making fun of each other and pulling jokes (for a lack of a better term) on each other... all in good spirit and for the love of humor, so when I saw that "they" had taken this picture of him, well I could not stop laughing.
He thought he was going to be hilarious by showing the crowd this sign, and the joke was on him! LOL

I was really having a hard time with this LO's title.  I kept coming with things like "the spelling be that could not" and all sorts of titles that included the spelling bee, but I could not find paper that had bees combination school related.  I did find that I had this CartaBella collection and decided to use it and this is how the title evolved into "the missing U."

This is one more LO inspired by one of the awesome PageMaps sketches.

I know it need a bit more embellishing on the journal card, but since I am just adhering with removable tape so that he can later type the journal entry and I will be giving him things such as paper clips etc. and will be showing him how he can run it through the printer if he chooses not to write in the entry himself.

Of course I had to use glitter paper and glitter alphas for the U to make it stand out!! LOL
For the background I used grey cardstock but the color was a bit intense so I decided to add vellum before adhering and stitching all the circles.
