challenge over at Nichole Heady|PTI a few days ago and I almost forgot to post it.


I chose the Cover Plate: Quatrefoil die

My first attempt at creating the template did not work because I was trying to recycle a piece of acetate that was a bit thick and I only passed it once through my Big Shot.  Second try I used a much thinner material and I did pass it through my Big Shot a couple of times.

SDSespañol | DEE Valentine's Challenge

Today I am quickly stopping by to share this card since I am on vacation this week but just wanted to remind you of two challenges going on over at Snapdragon Snippets En Español and over at Dilo En Español.

I love this Snapdragon Snippets Design by Jodi file.  It looks really nice in person and it folds easy to get ready for shipping... I have two more in the works.  You can find the file HERE on sale at the Silhouette online store and HERE

Challenging myself | Dilo

Today I am sharing a card that I will be entering into my comadrita's Dilo En Español February challenge emphasis on challenge because I challenged myself to create a card in a style totally out of my element or style.

Here a closer look at the card I created in a style I call "Magnolia" style.  I wanted to create something using TH re-inkers and this is my first attempt.  I am also using modeling paste (the hearts in the background), gesso, cheese cloth, dew drops and lots more! lol

In addition to coloring the image with TH distress re-inkers I colored the flowers and the ribbon to match but I don't think the ribbon matches very well or as good as the flowers.

And here I continued to add more! LOL
Oh yeah, where you see big globs of gesso is because I am covering chunks of distress glitter that I did not like at all! LOL

Note: my photos were taken with an iPad and look to be of much higher quality on the iPad then here... I believe I lost lots of resolution because I used Blogsy (an apple app) to create this post.

Aquí les comparto este layout sencillo fácil y rápido de crear.

Mi layout mide 12x12 pulgadas. El papel verde lo corte a 11x11 pulgadas. El "heart snowflake" lo corte a 10.75 pulgadas. Añadi unos papeles en varios tamaños atras de mi foto que mide 4x6 pulgadas.  Le añadi el cupido y la palabra "sweetheart" y listo!

Espero les halla encantado nuestro pequeño hop y se hallan inspirado a crear algo con diseños de Snapdragon Snippets!

For this hop I created several cards challenging myself to not use my two favorite colors red and green and to use the files in a different way then originally intended...
For these two first cards I used a bit of modeling paste or embossing paste as my background:

My first card was designed using the heart found in the Silhouette online store file #5025 Playing Card Suites I just love that shape.  You can also find that file at the SDS store HERE
For my second card I just had to create something with this awesome dove.  I used vellum to cut the layers and I assure you it look so much prettier in person! You can find it at the Silhouette online store under file #72826 Dove Valentine Shape Card or as file #53491 Dove with Valentine Envelope. You may choose to get it from the SDS store HERE

For these next set of cards I used the heart found on the recently released Heart Window Tall Valentine Tote file #72719 I just knew I had to use that heart to create some of the oh so popular shaker cards...

I also just had to use that word! Loved it!  The word Valentine is from the also recently released Patchwork Heart Key Valentine Card file #72184

For this third shaker card I also used the word Valentine but this time I colored it with distress inks...
yeap! I still had the Christmas tree lights up when I took this picture just a few days ago. The lights are finally down as of Wednesday :)

 A Clean and Simple card...

 

 

For this card I just placed the word on my mat giving myself enough space to cut the panel to a A2 size.  I inked the word with distress inks while still on the mat and cut three additional words.  Once I was happy with the inking, I removed from the mat and cut the panel to size, placed it on my card base and added the words (in white) one by one.  Finished it by placing the word that was there when I was inking as the last layer or on top.  I love this technique!
