Home Sweet Home Release Blog Hop | DEE

Welcome to my blog and to the Home Sweet Home Release Blog Hop from Dilo En Español   I hope you just arrived from there.
I am so proud of my BFF, my comadrita Abby because actually, this is the start of "Say it in English."  Abby was encouraged by a very sweet person that just loved the images to start a small line of stamps in English.  She will probably have a set every couple of months with stamps in Spanish remaining the main hot items. The illustrator of these darling images is Lizeth from Super-Scrapbook.  Lizeth is from Guadalajara, México and owns her own paper line with the same name.
OK on to my projects.  As soon as I received this paper from MME I knew I would be using it with the "casitas" (little houses) as soon as I received my stamps.  If you follow my blog you know that I keep a Project Life | Life Documented journal.  This year I have not shared on my blog and I am a bit behind but, I am still keeping my PL | LD journal.  Additionally, this year I still could not come up with my "title" page but as soon as I saw this paper in combination with these adorable stamps that were coming my way, I knew exactly what I wanted to do for my title page.  This is my title page for 2013.
All the stamps you see here are from the set!  The paper with all the white chalk frames was perfect for the chalk effect and the perfect size to stamp the cute houses and phrases!
Here I just added or doodled some hearts with a red pencil.

For this area I used the "Live in harmony" stamp from the set and for that oh so typical of a cassette side A I used the square stamp using black ink and the A using white embossing powder from the set "tu crucigrama" newest set!  Yes I grew up with cassettes! and I love music so this is just perfect for me.
I hand stitch the "hello" word and die cut the rest.
After I finished the above project I, not being too happy with my white ink stamping thought on creating something else.  So I set out to create this card using mainly an embossing technique.

I almost did not share this card because I "ruined" the embossing of the clouds... yeap! why did I decide to add the clouds after I had assembled my card with the 3D adhesive? oh yeah, I did do that!   LOL  So I set out to do a third project.
I remember I had some pictures of my grand daughter Lauren playing with her house Christmas day, so perfect for my layout!

I had so much fun creating this layout with lots of stamping and glitter!
Lots of stamping and paper piecing of these cute cute houses! It was time consuming and labor of love for sure! I paper pieced the windows, doors, trims and part of some roofs.

For this cluster of houses on the below picture, using a masking technique and memento pen inks I was able to add the lamp and cute flowers.  phew! I most definitely needed and used my reading glasses!
"Mi casa es su casa" is a dear to my heart phrase because I grew up in a culture of very welcoming warm people.  We love and enjoy being the host!
Hope you enjoyed my projects and provided you with some ideas to use this super cute and versatile set (also available in Spanish).

PRICE!! One lucky person will receive the stamp set "Home Sweet Home" and 20 yards of the new solid colors from the The Twinery brand.

Candy Crush Saga Scrapbook LO

I finally finished and was able to take decent pictures of a layout I created of my Candy Crush Saga addiction.  Yes, addiction for a few weeks until I decided that it was taking too much of my free time that I could be using to scrapbook instead.  I made it to level 350 and stopped....  for 3 weeks, and I am back to playing it but not so often :0)

While trying to find the perfect paper (it took me a long time), I found that I had the perfect collection.  The Simple Stories Snap collection has the colors and stripes even the chocolate with sprinkles or cake as I call it! LOL

It really looks much better in person...

Using a file I found of the title on Google images, I traced it and made it into a cut-table file for my Silhouette.
I added Glossy Accents to the heart and a piece of brown string to the tag to mimic the real one.
The big tag behind my pictures was cut by hand and added the tab cut using a PTI die.  The stars were cut using Sizzix dies.  And the two circles behind the title were cut using dies from MFT and Lil' Inker, just love the stitching effect.

Queen and Company has the most perfect embellishments for this layout!!  Candy Strippers.
All papers are from SS Snap, even the make believe washi tape.  I love that the 6" x 6" paper pads have all the papers but scaled down (I used to cut the stars).

The letters to spell addiction I already had on my stash.

Thanks for visiting
I will post all the links to the supplies by tomorrow.

Project Life | Life Documented for Ted

I was able to take pictures of the pages I created for Ted since we have not yet met for dinner so that I can give him his gift.
I was able to create 8 single page layouts and 1 double layout with the option to create a couple more that I can give to him at a later date unless we do not meet for dinner this week and I am able to create.
Here are the pages which I did not embellish much nor did I added the journal entries, that I am leaving it for him.  I will be providing him with an archival quality pen, some embellishments, and extra cards and plastic protector just in case he want to keep going on.

It starts documenting from 2007 up to 2012 and I finished it with old pictures from before we started working together.

He started working at another school before coming to work with me.  This is his goodbye cake and staff get together.

This is an event sponsored by the police department to demonstrate to the kids how horrible it is to drink and drive.

This on includes the cutest arrow stamps from Dilo En Español, my grand daughter (left middle), my god daughter's baptism (left bottom) and my two BFFs (top right).  This is one of the few pages where I did add the journal entries myself.

This one below has lots of Dilo En Español's cute arrow that I stamped to direct the journal entries.

 Graduation 2010

 Graduation 2011

On this one I had forgotten that I needed to include the words "READ Across American" on the left page, good thing I decided to take pictures... This was in 2009.

And this is the 2009 graduation and the last one I participated with our kids....  I get way too emotional.
On this pages I decided to add some wooden stars.  (and the orange color to match his shirt! LOL)

The following pages include (with the exception of the page to the left) pictures that Ted gave me to scrap from before I met him.

Those two pictures include so much to tell.... some private but I will share a bit about the top left one.
Ted was having a bit of tooth problems and mentioned to me that he needed to see a dentist but that it was so expensive and he had no insurance.  So I quickly offered information about my oh so wonderful, caring, compassionate, professional dentist in Tijuana, yes! México!!   Well, the jokes would not stop!!  Ted went as far as to demonstrate and mimic what it would be like somebody from the cave ages pounding on his teeth! LOL  I did laugh because that is the relationship we have!!   Needless to say, HE went and HE LOVED my dentist!!  HA! (2009-2011?)
... story gets better.  He recently made sure that he related the following story just for my benefit...
Ted now has insurance and went to visit a dentist, actually a couple of dentists here in CA and oh the horror stories! hahahaha  He said "remember the pounding and all that that I made fun of? well it happened to me here!!"  LOL   To which after laughing much I replied "you do know that our insurance here is accepted there too, right?"  HAHA

This is it for this long post.

I used Project Life Honey; Blush; Midnight and Jade collections.  I also used Simple Stories Snap! collection.
And for the cute arrows DEE Universitaria and Gráfica del Corazón stamp sets have some adorable ones. (I also used some arrows from DEE mini sets that are not for sale).

I almost forgot to add that it took me a weekend to put together (few hours each day).

For The Record | A Trombonist

This I believe is the last 12"x12" layout I will be creating for Ted's Scrapbook... in a while.
Why the uncertainty you ask?  Well, there is this picture of him playing cards with the kids that I want to scrapbook but have not yet find.  Ted is a pastor (I call him Padre [accent], sometimes.  Because he wears the vestments and paraments or robe, etc.) so when I saw him "try" to belong with the kids/crowd, I immediately said, wait Ted! I must take a picture of this and forever have something to blackmail you with! LOL  Anyway, as I have mentioned before, Ted gave me 147 pictures to scrapbook and I decided to scrap most of them in a Project Life/Life Documented style that I will be sharing at a later time.

For this last (maybe) layout I used this picture of him looking through his music...
I always gave him a hard time and called him a trumpeter when he is a Trombonist!  Boy did he use to get annoyed! ha  (trust me, he did equally or worse to me!...Oh the fun memories).

My title "for the record" it's so perfect for me to continues with "I play the trombone, not the trumpet!" but decided to be nice and leave it for him to write in what he deems appropriate...

I called Ted today to set up a time to meet, have dinner and give him his scrapbook.  I hope he loves it!

Afro Man Meets Santa Claus LO

Today I am sharing a fun/funny LO of the series I have been creating for my friend Ted.
This pictures cracks me up.  It is not a very good quality or resolution picture but I just had to scrap it on a layout (many of his pictures I am doing Project Life/Life Documented style).

This pictures was taken in 1978 and it remind me that I too wore an Afro (mine was natural Ted! LOL... I know he will be reading this).

I followed a PageMaps sketch (not a contest).
There is a link to a slideshow on PageMaps blog that takes you to many sketches housed on Picasa.
This is the sketch.

I used a BG Figgy Pudding collection that I have been hoarding.  Just Love Basic Grey's older collections. I additionally used some wooden stars and firecracker twine .

I just finish two more LOs for Ted's album and need one more and I will be done!  Most of the pictures I scrapped them Project Life/Life Documented style.  I will be sharing those in the next week or so, hopefully I get to take pictures before I give it to him.
