Hello everyone and welcome to the:
If you came from my BFF-I-Love-all-things-Lucy-I-collect-and-have-all-her-barbies comadrita! then you are headed in the right direction, if not, make sure not to miss the starting point with Abby
We are SO EXCITED to bring to you this awesome blog hop!
Our dear talented Ann (SVG Cutting Files) created the most amazing svgs for our blog hop!
Abby started this blog hop a few years back. This is actually the 2nd I Lucy Blog Hop,
why this hop? Well, it's plain and simple......
We are LOVING FANS of I Love Lucy!
And for me it has a special meaning because I grew up being able to only watch English speaking TV while living in México. The only channel in Spanish at the time until Siempre En Domingo was televised in the USA did not come on till the late afternoon and most shows were documentaries or Novelas (Soaps). The shows I watched in English include I Love Lucy, Leave it to Beaver, Bonanza, Combat... etc. And even thou I did not speak English, I understood every word!!
I attended most of my elementary school years in Tijuana (combination San Diego back and forth) where it is a tradition to perform a dance to celebrate Mother's Day on May 10th or there about.
I was able to perform during 1st (La danza de los viejitos); 2nd (El Can Can); 6th (a graduation Waltz I don't remember the name of it) and during 3rd grade which I don't remember the name of the dance either. All I know is that when I was invited to this hop, I immediately remember having the picture you will see below and asked Annie (Ann) if she could please create a SVG of Lucy imitating Carmen Miranda performing Chiquita Banana. I think she did an awesome job! Thanks Annie!!
I believe this is the first of my childhood pictures that I scrap and this image is just perfect for it.

My dress is white, navy blue and red but while selecting the paper, the color orange just looked better for the look I was trying to accomplish and that is to keep my photo as the main focus.
I used a combination of Basic Grey, Echo Park and Simple Stories pattern papers.
I spritzed some color shine in peach by Heidi Swapp and used distress inks by TH.
Below you can see the original photo. Amazing how I took a picture of the picture with the iPad and it came out much better! I did not have to scan! All I did is crop it to get a closer look.
I was not able to capture the shine on the fruit on Lucy's head piece but I used Smooch paints in Siren, Sundance, Lustrous Lime, Plum Twist and Pumpkin colors. Looks much better in person.
For her dress I used the newspaper PP and spritzed it with Color Shine in Tinsel and distress ink.

On her shoes, earrings and belt I rubbed with my fingers Viva Inka in Green and Steel Blue. Yeap, I was playing with paints!
