BG POTM 2010

My daughter is home and got her to scrapbook with me!!!
We got to play with Basic Grey's POTM kits.
I pretty much created the layout as suggested by the instructions provided/included on the kit with the exception of substituting the name "Lauren" in place of two tiny pictures.  I cut the name using "Base Camp" with it's shadow welded using the Gypsy. I also cut the "2010" and used instead of journaling.

Below is the LO my daughter created
.  She got a bit more creative and added 3D to some of the bottom squares, added and chalked a bird, placed the pictures at a different angle, added two names cut using "Pooh Font" and a sentiment cut using Gypsy Font in place of journaling.  She also cut using punches a couple of hearts.
It was a fun mother-daughter scrapbook day!!!!

Heartstrings Design Team Cute Critters

Hello everyone!
This time we are all to create something with a critter.....
I thought for a long, long, long time, OK and extensive period of time about what to create.
I right away knew that I wanted to use the stamp with the sentiment:  "Beauty grows around us.  You see it everywhere...all of life's a miracle, the Lord counts every hare!" by our wonderful sponsor My Heart Stamps 4 You, but I just did not know exactly were or how to use it. I thought of a hare of course! but how? I thought of a two page layout with critters since I do own the Cricut cartridge "Create a Critter"... and nothing! I looked at all my cute designs from Silhouette, some rather cute and even beautiful, but still nothing!!!  Since I did not want to disappoint Shelley nor any of the wonderful ladies in our DT, I continued to search... I looked at all the bunnys I have,  I even went out and purchased a Sizzix hare die.  I cut the die/hare several ways and in several different colors, I went as far as flocking it! following Anne's video tutorial (check it out), but still not happy!!
The result is the most simple card with one the most powerful sentiment!  After stamping the sentiment, my search continued for the perfect embellishment, ribbon, metal charm... etc.
I know that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but the simplicity of this card, to me, describes this sentiment so perfectly... "Beauty grows around us. You see it everywhere...all of life's a miracle, the Lord counts every hare!"

Thanks for looking and for enduring the long Gab...mhhhh maybe that's why they call me Gaby?! lol

Just for that! I am offering some blog candy!

All you have to do is leave a comment!
and make sure you check my DT blogs for amazing critter projects!!!
I will use Random.org on Monday morning!

Bag using TBBM and Sponge Bob

I created this bag for my niece's 8th B-day party on Sunday. She just love Sponge Bog!
The bag was cut at 11 1/2" on a 12"x24" cardstock
Sponge Bog was cut at 5"
Pineapple was cut at 8"
Best Day Ever was cut at 3"

I was supposed to make 10 bags, than kids started to cancel, than I was supposed to only make 5, on and on....
I just made hers and for the other kids I prepared 8 plastic Sponge Bob bags I bought at Party City!  (less work for me!-- 3 showed up!)
She had a lot of fun at Chuck E Cheese.

Jesus is the Reason for the Season

This card was created to enter Emma's Thursdays Challenge
Cart - Wild Card
Paper - K&Co
Dew Drops
Distress Ink
Frame and name Jesus were cut
Frame and words "is the reason for the season" were drawn using cri-kits gel pens,
(the words were welded)
and for the bottom of the inside of the card I used a piece of Felt Fusion-Queen&Co

I did not like the envelope at all!!  If anybody has advice on how to best fold it without showing the cut/fold marks, I will really appreciate it!
