Travel - Grecia/Olimpia - Two Page LO

I have been working on two-page layouts of my traveling experiences.  I love to travel!!! This is from a cruise I took in 2004.  It's been a long time since I travel! :(

I used DCWV paper from the Fall Indian Summer and Travel stacks.
For the Greek words I used a font I had and welded using Pazzles, but they can be cut with MTC or SCAL.

Heartstrings Design Team Red, White and Blue

I created this card using our sponsor's stamps -Head to  myheartstamps4u for
a free stamp with every order (I believe it will be her choice of stamp) where the heartstrings team is mentioned.  And make sure you check Heartstrings for prizes!

*I used white, red and blue paper from The Paper Co., the yellow is Core'dinations.
*The white paper was run on the Big Shot and Cuttlebug Hearts embossing folder.
*The blue and white for the medallion were run thru the Big Shot using the Spellbinders scalloped oval dies. Cut and than embossed.
*The girl stamp was colored with Copic markers. (My first real attempt).
*The ribbon is Celebrate it! red for the double bow.
*Large heart and star were punched with Marvy Uchida punches.
*The small hearts and stars were cut with Cricut George and Basic Shapes.
*The mustard cord is hemp from Cousin Hemp Cord.
*Everything except the white paper were inked with Ranger vintage photo.
*The sentiment was stamped using Memento rich cocoa ink.

Embossing on the Cricut with Pazzles Embossing Mat

I just wanted to share a bit of info if you are interested in ever embossing a 12x12 piece of card stock or?
I purchased a 13x15 embossing mat from Pazzles at Joann.com for $11.

This is what it look like after taking the protective sheet off.
It is important that you squeegee the adhesive firmly with credit card or similar tool.
I did, than I peeled the film and placed a 12x12 piece of Core'dinations from the Black Magic collection.
I placed the paper an inch from the top or were I was going to feed into the Cricut E. and centered the rest.
You can see how the back or were it embossed looks like. I first tried setting the blade housing at 4 and it did not work well all the way through.  I than tried it at 6, pressure max and it work well with a couple of tiny rips.
I used Elegant Cakes cart and chose  the design on page 34 set to "fit to page".
This is the front side of the paper. Here you can see that I started sanding the design. You may choose not to with different card stock or other materials.
I hope this helped somebody!
OH THE MOST IMPORTANT PART!  you do not need a special embossing housing or needle? all you do is flip over your blade, yes take blade from housing and flip over or place sharp end into the housing!!

Stretch Your Imagination Layout

I created this layout to enter MyCreativeTime or Emma's Throwback Thursday Challenge.
The challenge is to incorporate the colors brown, red and blue using Cricut SYI.

Every cut with the exeption of the words "school is out" were cut using the Stretch Your Imagination cart.
I just realized that I forgot to adhere the watering can...oh well
I covered the wheels with aluminum foil.
I used my Peachy Keen stamps for the first time on the sun....( I think I chose smaller than I should have.)
