Today I am sharing a layout I created using one of the leaves from a Snapdragon Snippets design available on the Silhouette online store that I converted to a stitch pattern.
Even thou I have previously machine stitch and hand stitch on my layouts, I stitched on this layout inspired by Melinda Spinks and her awesome creations. I love all her layouts and the way she purposely creates "messy" stitches (for a lack of a better term).
I have previously asked Melinda permission to copy one other layout but have not done so... yet :) (she so kindly and whole heartily said yes) and might just have to ask her if I may "lift" this one. I have the perfect photo of my grandson for it.
I used file #21308 and converted the leaf cutting file to a stitch pattern by typing "periods" at font size 20 spaced at 200 and "dropping" it on top of the leaf design.
I stitched using gold metallic thread which it was a bit tedious or time consuming because the "gold/metallic" kept rubbing off the base thread while it was passing through the paper holes and breaking but I really enjoyed it ... I just took my time and stitched a little bit each of 3 days. It was relaxing. It reminded me of my previous cross stitching hobby and that is a good thing :).
Remember to join us over at SDS for our Anything Fall September contest.
We also have a DT call ending on the 21st.
Thanks for visiting!
