Welcome to GabyCreates
and the the Cooking With Cricut's
Cele"bear"ation Blog Hop!

We've been partying all month long in honor of CWC's first blog-aversary! If you just arrived from Maria Elena's Blog you are in the right place, but if you just happen to stop by and wish to participate, please start at Cooking With Cricut

I have created/posted 3 layouts including this one using the Basic Grey Romani collection of the same celebration! My grand daughter, nephew and niece's birthday party back in 2007
The theme for the party is bears and/or celebrations.

Link up your cele"bear"ation-related project at CookingWithCricut

Here are the guidelines for the challenge:
-Project must include a Cricut cut.
-Project must include a Bear.
-Project must be new for this blog hop challenge.
-You must link to your post and not just your blog.
-Your post must include a link back to CWC.

You will have one week to complete your project and link it up. The Design Team will pick their three favorites and one lucky person will be chosen randomly to win one of the prize packages being offered!

Thanks for joining our cele"bear"ation!  Your next host is Jen of Musings of A Crafty Mom

America The Beautiful Frame

Today I created/decorated a frame to celebrate
Memorial Day
Once a month I have the opportunity to post a tutorial over at
She'sASassyLady -- hope you can go visit.

In addition, today is Creative Cutter Room's challenge Thursday --
And as a Design Team member I invite you to participate in this Challenge!
The Challenge: Create A new project using the theme Honoring our Vets -
with a prize... see at bottom!

Here is the tutorial:

I used the K&Co Americana
Collection.

These are the cuts using "Stand and Salute"
"Independence Day" and "Dude" Cartridges

I purchased this frame "Bed Post"
I was looking for a crackled one, but
could not find.

How to create a 3D star from a plain
star.

Score at each an every point.

This is what it looks like (minus one)

Fold downward at the peaks.

Fold inward at the valleys.

Play with it my squishing it all together
The more you play, the more it works.

Here you see a finished star and a plain
star.

Tip: If you are like me and 90% of
the time you want things inked, but
the parts/pieces are too small, use
a marker instead of ink.  Here I am
using a brown marker.

For very small intricate cuts, you can just
tap the marker on the opening/cut.
Here is a close up of the top banner and 3D star.
Here is a close up of some of the designs/cuts and the bottom 3D star.
I am really enjoying decorating frames/shadow boxes lately.  I hope you liked it!
If you did, please leave a comment! I love reading them!

The Challenge: Create A new project using the theme Honoring our Vets

Link your project over at Creative Cutter Room for a chance at a Father's Day Cricut Cartridge!

Card Carnival Blog Hop -

Welcome to GabyCreates
and to the Card Carnival Blog Hop hosted by Sher
Hopefully you just arrived from Mollie's Blog, but if you just happen to
be visiting me and wish to participate, please start with Sher

We are to create a shape card other than square or rectangle

I created this card for my niece and have to create another one later today for my cousin that calls me Tia (my uncle is almost my age).  Both young ladies are graduating from High School the first week of June.
I am going to suggest to my nieces that they recycle the design and use it on a layout with pictures of their upcoming graduation... (I guess I am creating two layouts!)
I used a file from Jen from Pieces of Ali and Me.  It is all done with the Cricut and Gypsy using the Paper Dolls for Everyday, George and Basic Shapes and the Hello Kitty Font cartridges.
I changed the design a bit and made the star card, the rest is Jen's design.

Guilty Pleasures LO "My Love for Godiva"

Welcome to GabyCreates
and to another challenge with ScrapTiffany
This time the challenge is "Guilty Pleasures"

If you know me, you know I love chocolate!
Godiva is the best, especially if it is dark!

I know the challenge is called guilty pleasures, but some how
I never, ever feel guilty eating chocolate!
And how appropriate that the PP paper is called Luster Chocolate Decadence
It is by Cloud9Design Chocolate Chalet Collection
I printed the emblem/logo and added my journal entry on velum and place on top.
I cut the oval by hand.
I used Photoshop to create my photo collage.  The Cheesecake is the one I got for my birthday, all other pictures are from the Godiva site. It is all Dark Chocolate!! My mouth is watering... actually I still have some
of that cheesecake left over... off to get me some!

Hopefully you take the time to go visit the beautiful creations members of the DT have created!
