"Ma Maison est ta Maison"
or
"Mi Casa es su Casa"
better know as "Mi Casa su Casa"
I created a Two-Page Lo of my grand baby Lauren and my Maltipoo Tiny
I bought my grand babies a play house, but since they live far away and only visit a couple of times a year, the playhouse, when my grand babies are not here, it belongs to Tiny and Moto (Shar-Pei)!
So who is saying Mi Casa es su Casa?  you be the judge!

Lauren is holding on her hand Tiny's toy. He is looking at her like saying HELLOOO!!!
not only are you in my house, take over grandma and grandpa's attention, but take my toy?!!!!
For the picture matting I used the window (pg 36) enlarged to fit the 4x6 pictures using DS
I also cut the red part of the window/mat using hide contour on all other parts and the bottom I had to cut by hand since there in no layer available for that part of the window.

The Chandelier (pg 37), mirror (pg 35), chairs (pg 29) using shift, and table (pg 33) were cut at 3"
I had to cut the chairs again with pattern paper to match the sofa because there is no layer available and hiding contour will not work.
The sofa was cut at 2.5" (pg 32)

For the mirror on (pg 35) which cuts it in 3 layers,  I used all three. I glossed the tiny one and applied aluminum paper to the middle part to make it look like a mirror.

I used glossy accents on the clock, mirror and chandelier.
The letters were cut using the Blackletter cart.
For the journaling tag I used the layer of the screen found on page 54. I used hide contour in order to not waste paper and cut it in 3 different sizes.
I popped dotted the sofa and table.
I used  ribbon and a buckle across the LO.
Finally, I used a MS go around the page punch called "French Lace" around the entire LO.

You are at the end!!
Thanks for hopping along!!!!

TRI-FOLD CARD - Inspired by a Bag

This is the first card I make of this type. I was inspired by this gift bag. My assistant gave me a b-day gift back in April in this exact bag.  He knows green is my favorite color (him and his wife are just wonderful) and he just brought me dark chocolate (I am a chocoholic!) from a San Francisco trip him and his wife just took, and I ungrateful finally decided to make him a card with this bag that I just could not recycle before. (I'm glad).
I did not pay attention to my not so good picture before I pulled the bag apart (the green is not showing well).

This is the card in its closed position. It it a standard A2 size.
I was able to pull the bag apart pretty good without ripping.
I used the flowers and the green paper from the bag (oh and the ribbon).

POTM BG

For the month of April 2009 I did not like the layout nor the paper, so I created my layout with inspiration from PageMaps and My Mind's Eye paper.
This was such a special moment because my grand baby Jasmine on her own just came and cuttled with me without asking her to do so.....

I love the LO for the month of May, but could not find the paper at the time! so I used Fancy Pants paper.
Yes! this is me as a little girl.

Paisley Card and Spiritual Meaning

This is my first Pile It On, Basic Grey, Papercutz and/or Digidoodleshopbest Challenge...
I created this card which has elements that are a first for me and got me all excited!!!
Basic Grey Challenge ask for fabric...  so I tried for the first time to cut fabric with Spellbinders and it worked!!!!
Another exciting thing for me is this new embossing folder from Sizzix that I think is so beautiful and I cannot decide if I like the debossing side better!!!

This is the first easel card I create! Amanda Villareal made me! lol

While creating this card I got curious about the meaning of Paisley and this is what I found...
Spiritual meaning of the Paisley at http://applesofgold.com/jewelryblog/tag/spiritual-meaning-of-the-paisley/
The paisley design is rich in spiritual and symbolic meaning. In India, the paisley signified the time of harvest, a time of both socio-economic and spiritual significance.
In Eastern religions, the two paisleys are reminiscent of the yin-yang, the interaction of two polar energies of which encompasses creation (a befitting motif for the union of marriage).
Some scholars also believe the paisley is a convergence of a floral spray and the ancient cypress tree of the Middle East–a spiritually rich tree that is often found in the pages of the Bible.
Noah’s ark, for example, was made with cypress wood: “So make yourself an ark of cypress wood; make rooms in it and coat it with pitch inside and out” (Genesis 6:14). The cypress was also a symbol of holiness and aesthetic beauty: “The glory of Lebanon will come to you, the pine, the fir and the cypress together, to adorn the place of my sanctuary; and I will glorify the place of my feet” (Isaiah 60:13).

I was amazed that I could cut fabric with Spellbinders Nestabilities. Since I did not have fabric I used an old bandana. The challenge was finding matching paper and embellisments!!

3 Pattern paper, 2 stamped (digi stamps ok) images, 7 buttons, ribbon, something clear.
