Father's Day Wallet

Today we are having a challenge over at Creative Cutter Room
The Challenge is a Father's Day one!

I followed the Splitcoaststampers tutorial on how to make this wallet, only a lot easier!!
I got to skip several steps!

By using a paper (very soft paper) from ANW Crestwood - Sand Rain Drops
I was able to skip the Running throught the Cuttlebug or other embossing tool steps.
I additionally was able to skip the Heat Embossing steps.
This wallet took less than 10 minutes to make!
The inside PP is from Creative Imaginations
I think it took me longer to do the stitching! my sewing machine kept getting stuck on the shiny, soft, in a way sticky paper.... and since the paper is so soft it crumble in certain parts so I decided to over ink on the edges to make it look like a well worn wallet.

Link your project over at the Creative Cutter Room to be entered to win this prize!
Your Story Bundle!!

Hopefully you can enter our challenge over at CCR
and make sure to visit my team mates for more father's day inspiration!

You have until June 15, 2011 to enter the challenge.

A Layout using mostly the Imagine

Today is Wednesday
Whimsical Wednesday that is.
Today is my last post as a Layout DT member of WW as my 3 month term has come to an end.
and the challenge is summer and stamping...

I created this layout using mostly the Imagine Enjoy the Seasons cartridge.  I am entering this LO on the Cricut Circle Weekly Challenge (stamping and summer treats).
I think this is the only picture of my Mom at the beach. I believe she was 19? and the picture was taken in Acapulco with a friend?... she is not here to ask her...
Above you can see how I hand stitched on the trees.  The Imagine design already had this little dots that I used as my guide to poke little holes before stitching with DMC floss.  I brought the stitching all the way into the picture.
Above I did the same with the stitching following the Imagine Enjoy The Season's cartridges design bringing my stitching into the picture...
The sun was cut using Cricut Disney Mickey and Friends.  I cut the layers, inked and painted with Smooch paints to give it that glimmery look.
Here is the sun again 3 dimensional..
Above you can see my Fiskars Vacation stamp using Memento gray ink.  You can also see the Popsicle cut using Cricut Doodlecharms, my Mom's favorite summer treat.  I also used Smooch paint to give it the glimmery look.  The tag was cut from a paper I first printed on the Imagine using Enjoy the Seasons.
I wrote with a gelly pen on the tag.  I also used fabric that I crinkled with the sewing machine, buttons and more DMC floss.

Oh, my MOM is the one to the left!  I usually have a hard time scrapbooking my MOM, but this time was actually fun!
...update -I am also entering this LO in Getting Scrappy with Amanda and Melissa

A Layout of My Lauren -- BG Life of the Party

Hello! Hope everybody had a wonderful and safe Memorial Day Weekend!

Today I have a Layout using Basic Grey Life Of The Party Collection and Imaginisce's i-Top!
For Happy N Scrappin' and Scrap Tiffany and a little tip/tutorial on how to give your letters a little depth over at Creative Cutter Room.  Over at Scrap Tiffany we are to create something with our favorite manufacturer. Well, BG was my first love (I have others now!)....

I used Cricut Baby Steps and B is for Boy Cartridges for al the cuts.
All paper is from BG Life of the Party Collection (except the blue and green cardstock).
I did lots and lots of stitching with my sewing machine.
I took one of the fabric flowers in the pack of BG Die Cut Shapes/Petals and used it to create my button with my Imaginisce's i-Top and brads.

Hope you enjoyed!

Supplies I Used can be found at Happy N Scrappin'
Thanks for Visiting and leaving a Comment!!! and if you want to see the tip/tutorial go to CCR!

and for some more inspiration on favorite manufacturers, go visit the ScrapTiffany DT members projects!

Memorial Day!

"Memorial Day, originally called Decoration Day, is a day of remembrance for those who have died in our nation's service. There are many stories as to its actual beginnings, with over two dozen cities and towns laying claim to being the birthplace of Memorial Day. There is also evidence that organized women's groups in the South were decorating graves before the end of the Civil War..."

Today is Memorial Day Challenge over at PaperCraftingWorld

I created a layout to use for pictures that we will take of us having a
Memorial Day BBQ at my house.
I distress the edges of my pattern paper.
Did lots of stitching here and there.  I will place pictures later in the week.
For the star's how to see my post for Thursday the 19th of May.
 Used lots of dimensional foam.
Here you can see that I had forgotten to paint/draw their eyes and mouth and now I did and took this picture after I had already taken my other pictures and posted... and why did I touch my desing with my dirty full of ink and glue hands and messed up his nose?? Don't you just love it when that happens!!?
Printed the journal piece with my Imagine and Imagine More Cards and punched with an EK punch.
The stars are punched with a Marvy Uchida punch.
All PP is from K&Co Americana Collection
and
My cutting file is from Melin from PaperCraftingWorld!
I used PageMaps to guide me.

Thanks for visiting and leaving a comment....
There is still time to comment on my previous posting for a chance at winning the file I used.

What's Your Summer Blog Hop Day 2

Welcome to GabyCreates
and to Day 2 of
What's Your Summer Blog Hop hosted by Ashley

Hopefully you just arrived from visiting Ashley's Blog and are here to join us!
But if you just happen to be visiting my Blog and wish to participate, start with Ashley.

Yesterday I posted a layout about the beach and today I have a layout of yet another fun activity I love that happens quite often during the Summer months (and into the Fall due to great weather) ...

Grilling! sometimes we say BBQ-ing, but most of the time we say...
Let's have a Carne Asada!

I was inspired (scraplifted!) by a layout Juliana Michaels created a while back.
The accessories are from Cricut Paper Dolls for Everyday; the letters for the Grill title are from Cricut Birthday Bash; the star was cut with a Fiskars punch; (I forgot about the grass?) The red letters are BG. Stittching and brads were added to finish off the layout!

This is DH sticking his tongue at me trying to be funny.... so I told him yesterday that I found this pictures while I was looking for some of him grilling, that just for that! he will now be plastered all over the Internet looking silly! lol    He is OK with it! (he loves the attention).
